RESIDENCY
Fjaler – where art and rural life come together!
With support from the Sparebank Foundation in Fjaler and Vestland County Municipality, PreForm can offer residencies with free access to a stage and sound studio at Samvirket. The facilities are very well equipped for theatre, dance, music, and sound productions. In addition to the main stage and studio, we also have amenities such as a kitchen, bathroom, and lounge.
In and around PreForm, there are people and expertise available who can contribute to the production—whether it be production work, dramaturgy, sound design, or other artistic collaboration, by agreement.
Fjaler has extensive experience in hosting artists, both for work residencies and productions. We believe that getting away from the beaten path can be both inspiring and liberating. Many of those who come here say they find their own artistic bubble—with the peace to immerse themselves and gain new impulses for their work.
Complimentary production and work residency in Fjaler
PRACTICAL INFORMATION:
We welcome projects at various stages of production, but to come here for a work residency, the project must still be in progress.
We greatly appreciate it if you conclude your stay with an informal showing or another form of presentation—preferably something we can invite the local community to!
For music and sound productions, we accept applications on a rolling basis, while for performing arts, we have two application deadlines per year.
Applications are reviewed by an interdisciplinary working group, and approved projects will receive a response within four weeks.
In addition to free access to production spaces—either the hall or the studio—we also offer a needs-based contribution toward accommodation.
We can consider a letter of intent if the project period and funding have not yet been confirmed.
PERFORMING ARTS
At Samvirket, we have a 360 m² stage space that our artists have free access to around the clock for the duration of their residency.

MUSIC- & SOUND PRODUCTIONS
